Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program

Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program at the Yale Child Study Center is a leading clinical and research center for the assessment and treatment of children with anxiety disorders. We also specialize in childhood concerns that commonly co-occur with anxiety disorders (e.g., selective mutism and school avoidance). We serve youth from preschool age until young adulthood.

Our Services

Our clinical services include evaluation, treatment, and consultations.

If eligible, our assessment and psychotherapy services are offered as part of clinical research, and are therefore free of charge. By participating in these studies, you and your child will be providing information that will be helpful in expanding scientific knowledge about fears and anxieties in youth.

Our Team

Our team consists of professors, postdoctoral fellows, research associates, Yale graduate students in clinical psychology, undergraduate research assistants, and administrative staff.

Training Opportunities

The Program for Anxiety Disorders serves as a training site for psychology postdoctoral fellows, predoctoral interns, graduate students, and undergraduates as well as psychiatry residents. We welcome trainees who wish to learn more about how to care children and teenagers with anxiety disorders. Please contact Dr. Silverman or Dr. Lebowitz to discuss your training goals.

2nd Annual Anxiety Forum for Concerned Parents and Professionals

The Program for Anxiety Disorders hosted its 2nd Annual Spotlight on Anxiety on April 16, 2015 from 9 to 4.
